The battle of bzura
The battle of Bzura was a battle between the German army and Polish army from September 9th to September 19th 1939. It was at the Bzura river west of Warsaw, Poland.It was the longest German September campaign battle. The German's made much progress in a short time. When this battle started Germans were on the move to Warsaw, they got there from September 1 to September 9 the start of this battle. The Polish army attacked the flank of the German army and ended up doing a lot of damage to the Germans. there were 1500 German casualties and 3000 taken prisoner in this attack. After this, the Polish army had to set up a defensive line on the Bzura river but the Germans attacked from all sides and beat them. The Germans won more battles, and eventually took over Poland.
