Hitler planned for soldiers to dress as polish "rouges" and take over a radio station and send a message of polish aggression in polish so Germans would support the invasion of Poland. At around eight am the people dressed as polish rouges broke into the unlocked compound and neutralized three employees who were all German nationalists. Then they couldn't find a microphone. They found out it wasn't a radio station it was a radio transmitter relay. In desperation they used an emergency channel used for sending out local flood warnings. They used that to send out their message of Polish aggression how many people heard it, if any is not known. However the hundreds of thousands of Germans sitting at home listening to music were not interrupted by a polish message of inserrectionist as planned. Other staged attacks were performed that day, like at Pitschen forestry station where a bucket of ox blood was poured to make it seem like there was a polish attack on the station. Also at Hochlinden Customs House where concentration camp prisoners were murdered to make it seem like polish soldiers killed them.
This is where Gleiwitz Tower was.
